Flash/Unbrick using Mi PC Suite for Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon / MTK

Thinking of upgrading to the new Stock ROM or Unbricked your device? Why not use the Official Mi Device Client/Manager. It is the equivalent of iTune for iPhone. Let,s get to it.

Pre-requisite:

• Redmi Note 3 MediaTek Helio X10
• Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 650
• Other Xiaomi devices

Constant:

• Locked and unlocked bootloader

Essentials:

• USB Port on your PC/Laptop
• USB DATA cable (the one that came with your device)
• For (Snapdragon) only: Enable OEM Unlock - Goto Settings > Additional settings> Developer options > Enable OEM Unlock
• Enable USB Debugging - Goto Settings > Additionalsettings > Developer options > USB Debugging - Enable (If you have notactivated Developer options, then Goto Settings > About phone > tap MIUIversion 7 times > You are now a developer)

Features:

• Unbrick or solve bootloop problem
• Manage files, apps, photos, videos, notes, music, messages, contacts
• Most importantly make phone backups, restore, system upgrade and ROM flashing.
• Screenshot and Screencast functions are also available.
• Automatically share internet connection with your PC

Requirements:

Download and install: 

Launching the Mi PC Suite:After you finished installation, launch the app, it will automatically check for updates and update it to the current as seen bottom left-hand corner. You need to wait a few minute and be entertained with the gif. 



Once the installation process is done, connect your phone tothe PC with USB cable, as shown below:-





You might come across it is not connecting or failed at certain percentage. Not to worry, just reboot the app, and re-launch, and it should detect and get connected accordingly, as shown below:-





Once you are connected, sign-in to your Mi Account accordingly, as shown below:-





After done that, make a buckup of your apps, media and data.



Flash upgrade:
In the Update interface, you can perform a system update andcheck the changelog of the update, as shown below:-

Bootloop or bricked remedy:

At the homescreen, connecting your phone in Fastboot modewill automatically open the dialogue for fastboot flashing. If you experienced bootloop or brick, it will detect and download the necessary ROM for you.and will automatically flash your device accordingly, as shown below:-

Now, you have reached the home base, you are out of the looping and have successfully unbricked your device.

SP Flash TWRP3.0.0 for Redmi Note 3

Hello MIUI-ers...

Every now and then, I am doing testing towards going around the locked bootloader. This time using SP Flash Tool to flash TWRP for Redmi Note 3 as an alternative to flash TWRP recovery on a unlocked bootloader and ultimately rooting with SuperSU.

VERSION:

• Redmi Note 3 (MediaTek)

LIMITATION: 

• Unlocked bootloader.

PRE-REQUISITE:
DOWNLOAD:

• MediaTek USB VCOM drivers NOTE: WINDOWS 10 (32 & 64 bits) driver
• SP Flash Tool
• TWRP300_RN3_SPFlash©feds64
• UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65

ESSENTIALS:

• Go to About phone > tap MIUI version at least 7 times to activate the Developer options. Go to Additional settings > Developer options > USB debugging > Enable it.
• Fully charged your device
• USB DATA cable that came with your device.
• Working USB port on your computer
• Switch off your device

STEP ONE:
After all the three zipped files are downloaded, leaving UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.zip alone, unzipped them accordingly, then start installing the MediaTek USB VCOM dirver or the Windows 10 driver whichever is applicable. Next, move the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.zip to the Download folder on your phone for easy access, as shown below:-

STEP TWO:
After you unzipped the SP Flash Tool, launch the "Flash.exe" as shown below:-

STEP THREE:

Next click on the "Download Agent" and locate "DA_SWSEC.bin" from the unzipped SP Flash Tool folder earlier and click Open, as shown below:-

STEP FOUR:
Next click on the "Scatter-loading" button and locate the "MT6795_Android_scatter" from the unzipped "TWRP300_RN3_SPFlash©feds64" folder earlier and click Open, as shown below:-

STEP FIVE:
Since we are flashing the TWRP recovery, make sure the "recovery" box is ticked and unticked the "preloader" box, as shown below:-

STEP SIX:
Connect the other end of your USB DATA cable to the computer. 

Now click the "Download" button. 

DEVICE: (Still in Off-state mode) Immediately after clicking "Download" button, PRESS and HOLD the Vol (-) Down button, and connect the other end of the USB DATA cable to your device. Release the button after you see the big Checkmark which should be less than 10 seconds, as shown below:-

Unplug the USB DATA cable from your device.

STEP SEVEN:
Next what you need to do, to boot to the "TWRP 3.0.0 Recovery", you need to PRESS & HOLD the Vol Up + Power key simultaneously, and release when the Mi logo appear. Wait for a couple of second until the TWRP main menu appear, then tick "Only mount system read-only" as shown below:-

STEP EIGHT:
Next, flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65, as shown below:-

After that is done, Reboot System. Now, we done flashing TWRP recovery using SP Flash Tool and rooting using UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.

Greeting to MIUI-er fans...

Rooting is the process of allowing the user to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems.

This is a hassle-free Rooting process with the help of my batch file specifically for Redmi Note 2/Prime using SuperSU and TWRP recovery to flash many of your favorite custom ROM and apps.

Environment:

• Microsoft® Windows® 8/7/Vista (32 or 64-bit) and Windows®10 (32 or 64-bits).

Essentials:

• USB DATA cable (the one that came with your device)
• USB Port on your PC/Laptop
• Enable USB Debugging - Goto Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > USB Debugging - Enable (If you have not activated Developer options, then Goto Settings > About phone > tap MIUI version 7 times > You are now a developer)

Requirements:

• Download and install MediaTek USD VCOM drivers installer. For Windows® 10: Install MTK VCOM driver.
• Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.zip and moved it to your "Download" root directory on your phone for easy access.
• Download and unzipped twrp300+RN2_v2©feds64.zip

Flashing TWRP recovery:

After you done that, open the "twrp300+RN2_v2©feds64" folder and double click on "Flash_TWRP.bat" to start the process, as shown below:-

From here onwards, please follow the instruction as required on the command screen, as shown below:-

After completing the flash of TWRP, you will go into the TWRP Mount menu page, as follows:-

Caution: When you ticked, Mount system partition read-only, you will get OTA updates for the Official ROM and not otherwise, as shown below:-

Installing SuperSU:

Then proceed to Main menu and choose, Select Zip File/sccard/Download/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65, Swipe to Install, as shown below:-

Adjust time to your time zone, and you could make backup and restore later, as shown below:-

Then REBOOT SYSTEM accordingly, as shown below:-

Run SuperSU, Install an addon backup script that will let SuperSU survive custom ROM updates and nightlies? accordingly to ease yourself from losing SuperSU everything you get an updates, as follows:-

Now you have SuperSU installed, and you can download Root Checker to out whether ROOT has been done properly, as shown below:-

Now you are done with TWRP, SuperSU and you have successfully ROOTED your REDMI NOTE 2/PRIME.

TWRP 3.0.0, SuperSU Rooting & GApps for Redmi Note 3 [UNLOCKED]

After able to Unlocked the bootloader, many are searching how to ROOT with TWRP recovery especially for MIUI 7 Stable ROM, in order to flash a more customized ROM for eg. Languages convenience, installing ROOTED Apps and etc. 

CONSTANT: This is 100% Tested on WIN 7 Pro SP2 64-bit, will update WIN 10 Pro 64-bit status. What I had is a Stable ROM MIUI 7 V7.1.8.0.LHNCNCJ, and I wanted to ROOT via SuperSU, flash TWRP 3.0.0 recovery and eventually install Open GApp.

THOUGHTS: Just want a feel of the SuperSU’s System-less root experiment, feels smooth and tasking on my phone has somewhat more responsive.

REQUIREMENTs:

• Unlocked Bootloader. For more info: Latest Unlock millet phone / Mi Flash Unlock Tool
• Download and install MediaTek USD VCOM drivers installer accordingly. 
• For WIN 10 users: Installing MTK VCOM driver on WINDOWS 10 (32 & 64 bits)
• Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.zip and moved it to your "Download" root directory on your phone for easy access.
• Download and unzipped twrp300+RN3_v2©feds64.zip

After you done that open the "twrp300+RN3_v2©feds64" folder and double click on "Flash_TWRP.bat", as shown below:-

Installing Open GApps actually making it a default App Store rather than Mi App Store and the same goes for Browser, Chrome will take dominance as a default browser. Locate "open_gapps-arm64-5.0-nano-20160210.zip", and installing zip file is a cruise with TWRP, and follow, as shown below:

Now you are done with TWRP, SuperSU and installation of Google Play Store.
